We are opening the school edition to a small first group of schools. Tell us about yours and we will reply with what we can set up, and when.

What a school gets

Everyone who touches a lesson, working from the same bookings

The office, the instructors and the students each get the tool that fits their day, all working from the same courses and the same bookings.

  • A console for the office

    In the browser

Your head of training and office staff run the school from Pilot EFB Desk in the browser.

    • Courses and lessons, built in the editor or imported from a spreadsheet
    • Students, instructors and aircraft, with students invited one by one or in a batch
    • A calendar of flight lessons, simulator sessions, ground classes and exams
    • A progress board drawn from the school's signed records
    • An export of each student's training file
  • An app for every instructor

    iPhone and iPad

Instructors see their sessions and their students on the phone they already carry.

    • The day's sessions, and each student's school record before the lesson
    • A debrief with grades, a note and a signature, written right after the flight
    • Debriefs work with no signal and send when the phone is back online
  • An app for every student

    iPhone and iPad

Students use Pilot EFB on their own phone, with their school, course and instructor on the Home screen.

    • Each booking arrives with the date, start time and airfield, and the student acknowledges it in the app
    • On the day: the lesson's exercises, the field brief, NOTAMs and their personal minimums
    • After the debrief: their signed school record, to read at any time
  • Two records, kept apart

For the school and for the student

The school's training record and the student's own logbook are separate things, and stay that way.

    • The school's record (sessions, debriefs, grades and signatures) lives on the school's account
    • The student's personal logbook stays on their own device and account. The school never writes in it
    • After a debrief the student can add the flight to their own logbook with one tap

What this is not

  • Not a certified Electronic Flight Bag, and not approved or accepted by any aviation authority as a training record system. Keep your approved records wherever your authority expects them
  • Not a syllabus. Your school writes its own courses; Pilot EFB does not check training against any authority's requirements
  • Not dispatch or go/no-go. Every booking and every decision stays with your instructors

How joining works

We set up your school, you invite your instructors and students

There is nothing to buy online and nothing to install on a server. We set the school up with you, then your own people take it from there.

  1. Step 1: Tell us about your school

Send the form below. A real person replies, answers your questions, walks you through a demo and agrees a price with you.

  2. Step 2: We set up your school

We create your school and email your head of training an invitation. They sign in on the web, turn on two-step sign-in and accept the school terms and the data processing agreement.

  3. Step 3: Add your courses and people

Add your aircraft, your courses and your instructors, then invite your students one at a time or from a spreadsheet.

  4. Step 4: Everyone joins on their phone

Instructors and students accept the invitation in Pilot EFB on their iPhone or iPad, and the school's sessions appear on their Home screen.

Enquire

Tell us about your school

A real person reads every enquiry and replies by email, usually with a few questions and an offer to walk you through a demo.

Pricing

Pricing on request

Pricing is agreed per school, by seat. Seats are for students; instructors and office staff do not need one. Schools are invoiced directly, never through the App Store.

Pressing the button opens your email app with your answers filled in, addressed to support@pilotefb.com. If no email app opens, you can open the same email in Gmail or Outlook, or copy it. Nothing is sent until you press send there, and this site stores none of it. We use what you send only to reply about your school. Prefer to write yourself? Email support@pilotefb.com.

Good to know

Questions schools ask

Something we have not covered? Email support@pilotefb.com, or send an enquiry.

How much does it cost?

Pricing is agreed per school, so there is no list price on this page. Seats are for students; instructors and office staff do not need one. Tell us roughly how many students you train a year and we will reply with a quote.

Can students under 18 join?

Not at launch. The school edition is for adults only: every student and instructor confirms they are 18 or over before they can accept the school's invitation.

Who owns which data?

Your school's training record (sessions, debriefs, grades and signatures) belongs to the school and lives on the school's account. Each student's personal logbook is theirs alone: it stays on their own device and account, and the school never writes in it or reads it. A student can always read their own school record, including after they leave.

Can we export our records?

Yes. Your head of training can export a PDF of each student's training file and a spreadsheet of every signed record. Each student can also save a PDF of their own school record, and it stays theirs when the course ends.

What about students who already pay for Pilot EFB Pro?

App Store purchases stay separate from school seats. Seats are invoiced to the school, never sold in the app. While a student holds a seat it unlocks Pilot EFB Pro on their iPhone and iPad and Pilot EFB Desk in the browser. A student who already subscribes in the App Store keeps that subscription with Apple: a school seat never cancels or changes it, so they manage it in their Apple account as before.

Does it work offline?

It is offline-first on iPhone and iPad. An instructor can write and sign a debrief with no signal, and it sends when the phone is back online. Students keep their sessions and school records on the device. New bookings, fresh weather and NOTAMs need a connection.

Does it follow our authority's syllabus?

Your school builds its own courses and lessons in the console, or imports them from a spreadsheet. Pilot EFB does not supply a syllabus, and it does not check anyone's training against an authority's requirements. Progress is shown from your school's own signed records.

Is it approved by our aviation authority?

No. Pilot EFB is a personal, informational flight companion, not a certified Electronic Flight Bag, and no aviation authority has approved or accepted it as a training record system. It sits beside the records your authority expects you to keep.

Pilot EFB

One companion for every leg, on every screen.

Free on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Pilot EFB Desk brings it to the browser. Offline-first, so the tools work without a signal.
