The NOTAMs page is the desk's triage board: every station you load sits in a rail on the left, their NOTAMs are ranked by severity in the middle, and a detail pane on the right shows the complete raw text of whichever notice you open. The board says its own limits in the frame, "Fetched NOTAMs only ... absence here is not an all-clear.", and the module's standing footer, "May be incomplete - verify officially.", holds for every card on it.
Find your way around
The page has three columns and a strip across the top:

How to add a station or FIR
- Click into the add field under the rail's header, or press A anywhere on the desk to focus it.
- Type an ICAO, an IATA code, an airport name or a FIR code. Results list as you type; a hit already on the board is listed and inert, and a FIR hit carries a FIR pill on its name line. A FIR code loads the en-route NOTAMs for that flight information region.
- Press Enter to add the highlighted hit. New stations land in Not in a
group unless a group is the target: choose Add stations to
from a group's menu and a strip under the field reads "New stations go to " with an x Stop chip beside it; Shift+Enter always adds loose. The station fetches at once and its card fills in.
The board holds up to 8 airports and its FIR list has its own cap; a hit past the cap says "Your watch-list is full - remove a station first to add another." A station whose fetch fails keeps a Retry button rather than an empty group, and a station that returns nothing says "No NOTAMs returned for EGXX. This does not confirm none exist. Verify with official NOTAM sources." A station filed in a group on another device is fetched here on your next visit, so a saved group is never a row of unfetched cards.
A notice you received some other way can go on the board by hand: open More in the rail's foot, click Add manual NOTAM, pick one of your stations and paste the raw text. It is parsed like a fetched notice, marked as your own manual entry, and a Remove manual NOTAM button in its detail pane takes it off again.
How to file stations into groups
Groups are folders in the rail, nothing more: a group header press folds or unfolds its section, and the station you click is the only filter on the board. "Fetched NOTAMs are never changed."
- Press G, or use the new-group field in the rail's foot, and name the group. It appears as a section with its member count in brackets.
- Drag a station card onto a group's header to move it there (hold Alt to copy - a small green + rides the card); the header reads Move here or Copy here while you hover. A card is draggable at rest, and the rows slide apart to show where it will land. Drag within a section to reorder.
- Or hover a group header for its ... menu: Rename,
Refresh this group, Add stations to
(sets the field's target) and Remove group - "stations stay". F2 or a double-click renames in place. - Click Organise in the rail header for the whole board at once: the Organise stations dialog is a station-by-group grid of ticks, saved as you go, with a rename on each column header, a remove on each row and its own add field.
Your folds are remembered; a long Not in a group section folds itself once it passes six rows while groups exist. A station filed in two groups says so in its spoken label; the printed row is the name alone.
How to select, mute, pin and remove stations
- Click Edit in the rail header (or press E). Every card gains a checkbox and a ... menu button; the header reads Done while you edit.
- Tick cards (Shift-click for a range, Esc clears) and a bar docks with Move to, Copy to and Remove.
- Open a card's menu - or right-click any card at rest - for Open on the board, Pin to top or Unpin, Mute alerts or Unmute alerts, Move up, Move down, the group tick list, New group with EGLL... and Remove EGLL, which asks first. Pinned stations sort before every unpinned station.
- Click Done. A muted station carries a Muted marker in its card's trailing slot - its NOTAMs are still shown, only its alerts are silenced.
The Refresh button in the rail header refreshes every station at once; each card's fetch age sits as a small chip on its identity line, and the desk refreshes the airports by itself once the oldest of those ages passes an hour. On a narrower window the rail folds into a station bar across the top of the board.
How to give the board the width
Click a station card and the rail folds away on a short slide, so the station's own NOTAMs take the width; click the card again, All stations in the board head or Clear all, and it comes back. The slim tab on the divider ("Hide station rail" / "Show station rail") folds or unfolds it whenever you like.
How to narrow the board
- Click a station card in the rail to show it on its own; click it again, or All stations in the head, to see every station. A focused station appears as a Location: OIIX token in the head's "Filtered by" row.
- Set the When lens on its own line under the search: Active now, Next 24h, Upcoming, Expired, All time, or Between... for a From (UTC) and To (UTC) pair you type on one row. The status sentence under the head says what the lens holds back, in one line: "Fetched NOTAMs only, 308 more NOTAMs outside the current time window (widen the time window above to see them) - absence here is not an all-clear." Upcoming, Expired and All time set the window aside and say so.
- Click a tier on the severity meter to narrow to it; click it again to release it. The figures count everything else you have narrowed, so a tier never reads 0 just because another is selected.
- Type in the search field ("Search ID, Q-code or text"; / focuses it).
- Open Sort for Severity or Newest, and More for the drawer: Category as a grid of tiles, each with its count and its share of what is in view, Starred as one tile with its live count ("Your own stars, across every station in scope."), and Snoozed to show the notices you have snoozed instead of hiding them.
- Click Clear all in the head to drop every filter at once.
Priority first puts low-priority NOTAMs behind a Show control - nothing is removed. Clicking NOTAMs in the sidebar while you are on the board resets the session view: the open detail, the station focus, the search and the stacked filters clear, a folded station rail comes back and the queue scrolls to the top. Your sort, time window and UTC/LOCAL choice stay as they were.
How to read a NOTAM in full
- Click a card - the whole row is the button, with the map and star controls stacked at its right edge. The detail pane opens on the right with the NOTAM id, its station and subject, the tier, kind and affected-runway chips, and Mark viewed in the title row beside Copy raw and Star (it reads Viewed once marked). A NOTAM left open for a moment and a half is marked read on this device by itself; a key-walk that flicks past rows never trips it, and V on a focused queue row marks it read without opening it.
- Read the RAW block first. It is the complete text as fetched, with your highlight keywords in bold, and the line under it reads "Source: NOTAM Management System · Fetched:" with the age of the fetch. When the source sent no published text, the block says so: "Reconstructed from provider fields - no published text".
- Then read DECODED: Effective and Expires (or PERM), each with a relative caption ("in 3h 20m") and the station-local twin ("14:30L +01:00"), the Q-code and Traffic cells, and the Validity timeline - "NOTAM validity bar. Amber line is now. All times UTC." If the end could not be decoded the pane says so and draws no end: the raw text above is the authority.
- Below the timeline sit the Q-line fields the notice carries: ICAO, Classification, Last updated, FIR, Purpose, Lower / Upper (FL), Radius and Coordinates, with Schedule and Keyword when the notice carries them. A navaid or approach notice (an I or N Q-code) adds a section naming the component, its condition, the runway it serves or names and the ident as quoted from the text - "not stated" when the text does not say - with the line that other approaches at the station are not assessed here. A runway notice at a field the app can draw adds a field plan: the runways to scale from surveyed coordinates with the affected one marked, the field's last cached wind when there is one, and "Schematic markings - not for navigation".
- Use the pane's controls: Copy raw NOTAM text, Copy one-line briefing (the id, station, headline and window as one line for a handover note), Star, the map button ("View A3265/26 on map"), and Close (or Escape).
How to read what changed, and what else concerns the same thing
Under the decode, three sections compose the decoder's own fields; every absent state renders nothing rather than an all-clear.

How to keep a note or snooze a NOTAM
- Under the decode, type in Your note. The header's right end says where you stand - "No note yet", "Unsaved changes", "Saving" or "Saved 18 Sep 11:21Z · 40m ago".
- Press Cmd+Enter or click Save note; Discard or Escape returns the field to the stored text, and Clear note removes a saved one. A half-typed note survives a switch to another row and back, and closing the tab with one unsaved asks first. Notes hold 2,000 characters.
- Click Snooze until it changes beside Star to hide the notice from the queue. The control says what it is doing - "snoozed - hidden until its text changes or a later NOTAM replaces or cancels it" - and the workbench counts what a snooze hides in the current scope. Find snoozed notices under More > Snoozed, and Snoozed - show again on the pane lifts one by hand; the snooze also lifts by itself when the raw text changes, a later NOTAMR or NOTAMC on the board references it, or it expires, and the pane says why.
Notes and snoozes sync with your account, so they follow you to another device; un-doing either removes it everywhere.
How to see a station's 30-day history
- In a station's group head, click 30-day history.
- The NOTAM history page opens with "30-day rolling archive - informational only" under its title and one Archive · last 30 days panel.
- Filter with the Show segments - All, Active now, Upcoming, Expired and Amended, each carrying its real count; a segment with nothing in it is not offered.
- Click Show raw on a row for its text as first seen. An Amended row shows both raws and says: "Amended since first seen. This NOTAM was re-issued or corrected during its time in history. Informational only - it does not mean the NOTAM is cancelled or superseded."
How to print a briefing pack
- Set the board the way you want it on paper - the stations, the When lens, the tiers and any search.
- Click Print in the top strip and choose Print shown (N) for the filtered rows or Print all loaded (N) for every fetched NOTAM.
- In your browser's print dialog, choose Save as PDF.
The pack is titled "NOTAM briefing pack" with a Generated stamp, and a scope line under the counts - "Scope: all loaded NOTAMs (N)" or your filter summary with "N of N loaded NOTAMs shown" - so a partial pack is never mistaken for the whole picture. Every card keeps "Validity (UTC)" and its "Source:" and "Fetched:" line, and the export disclaimer rides the header and the footer: "Exported from Pilot EFB · Informational only. Verify with official NOTAM authorities before any operational decision." If the dialog does not open, the page says "Could not open the print dialog. Check your browser settings."
How to set keywords and NOTAM alerts
- Open Settings > Briefing, weather & NOTAMs and scroll to the NOTAM keywords section ("Custom highlight terms for briefings"); the whole editor sits inline on the console. Highlight keywords bolds the terms below wherever NOTAM text is shown; when off, NOTAMs render as plain text. Your own terms come first: add one under Custom keywords ("e.g. 09L or ILS CAT") and click Add. The Built-in terms below are always highlighted, plural forms too, and cannot be removed.
- Open Settings > Notifications and, under Location alerts, NOTAM alerts ("Watched locations and alert levels"). Turn on New NOTAM alerts: "Notifies you when a new critical or high NOTAM appears at a watched airport, FIR, or your home base."
- Pick the Default alert level, Critical + high or Critical only, and override it per row under Watched airports and Watched FIRs.
- Use Add alert-only watch to watch a location without adding it to Brief or favourites.
Alerts arrive as notifications on your signed-in iPhone or iPad and in any browser registered for notifications (Settings > Notifications), even with its tabs closed. Browsers receive critical and high NOTAMs; a location's own level narrows that per location. To keep NOTAM alerts off one channel, use Where each alert family goes in Settings > Notifications, which routes them to Phone, Browser and Digest separately. The setting applies to your account; other devices follow after they next sync.
How to look up a NOTAM by number
- Press Cmd+K from any page.
- Type the NOTAM number, for example A2905/26, or a fragment of its text.
- The NOTAMs section lists matches from this browser's 30-day NOTAM history; click one to open its detail page - the same raw-first pane, plus a Location map with Open full map when the notice has a position to plot.
- If the number is not in the local history, the deck asks the live NOTAM store for every station carrying it and appends the hits as live rows. The footer reads "on-device search + live NOTAM lookup" while it does.
If nothing is found the deck says so: "Not in this browser's NOTAM history, and no NOTAM numbered A2905/26 is in the live NOTAM store either." and tells you to verify with the official source. If the store cannot be reached it says only the local history was searched.
On iPhone and iPad
The phone keeps the same fetch, the same decode and the same footers in a single column (on the phone's free plan the decoded view is Pro, and the complete raw text stays free): station groups, the reading pane, manual NOTAM entry and saving a NOTAM set to a flight. Saving a NOTAM set to a flight stays on the phone - the More disclosure in the rail's foot says "Save to flight is available in the app." The station list you build here is the one the app shows. Troubleshooting
A station shows "No data" or "None returned". The fetch came back empty. That does not confirm none exist - the group says so and asks you to verify with official NOTAM sources. Press Refresh in the rail header (or Retry on a failed station's card in the rail's foot), then check the official source.
The board says NOTAMs are outside the current time window. The When lens is narrowing them. Pick Next 24h or All time on the When track, or set Between... to the times you need.
A tier on the meter is greyed. It reads 0: no NOTAM in view ranks there, and the tier stays on the meter rather than vanishing. The other tiers also step back while one tier is selected; click it again to release it.
A NOTAM I know is active is not in the queue. You may have snoozed it. Open More > Snoozed to see every snoozed notice; the snooze lifts by itself when the text changes.
Clicking a station in the rail did nothing. An older build let a group scope the board and swallow the click; groups are folders now and the station click is the only filter. If the rail has folded away, All stations in the head brings it back.
Field NOTAMs from an airport page opened the board on every station. The board waits for the field to reach the rail before narrowing to it. If the rail is full a message says "NOTAM station list is full (8 stations) - remove one to add EGXX."
Print does nothing. The page says "Could not open the print dialog. Check your browser settings." - the browser blocked the print window. Allow it for the app and click Print again.
