NOTAMs

The NOTAMs page is the desk's triage board: every station you load sits in a rail on the left, their NOTAMs are ranked by severity in the middle, and a detail pane on the right shows the complete raw text of whichever notice you open. The board says its own limits in the frame, "Showing fetched NOTAMs only - the absence of a NOTAM here is not an all-clear.", and the module's standing footer, "May be incomplete - verify officially.", holds for every card on it.

The page has three columns and a strip across the top:

How to add a station or FIR

1. In the stations rail, click + (the button is labelled "Add station").
2. In the Add a station or FIR panel, type an ICAO code. A FIR code loads the en-route NOTAMs for that flight information region.
3. Under Adds to, leave the active group selected or pick Board only to add the station without filing it into a group.
4. Press Enter. The rail reports what happened, for example "OIII added to the board and filed into Iran." with "Fetching NOTAMs." while the first fetch runs, and offers Undo and Dismiss.

The rail holds up to 8 stations. A station whose fetch fails keeps a Retry button rather than an empty group, and a station that returns nothing says "No NOTAMs returned for EGXX. This does not confirm none exist. Verify with official NOTAM sources."

How to file stations into groups

1. Click New group at the end of the group chips and give the group a name.
2. Tick the board stations that belong in it (Select all and Clear are there) and save.
3. Click the group's chip to narrow the rail to it. A group band appears at the top of the rail with the group's name, an honest "n of m board stations in this group" count, and three verbs: Edit stations, Rename and Delete group.
4. Edit stations opens one checklist of every board station - ticked means in the group - with explicit Save and Cancel. Rename is an inline field: Enter saves, Escape cancels. Delete group asks first and removes the group only; "Stations and their NOTAMs stay."

The active group chip carries a chevron that opens the same verbs as a menu, plus Show all stations to clear the scope. A group only narrows which stations the rail lists; "Fetched NOTAMs are never changed."

How to mute, pin and remove stations

1. Click Edit in the rail ("Edit the board - groups, stations, mute and remove"). Each station card gains two corner controls: mute or unmute alerts, and remove (from the group you are in, or from the board).
2. Click Edit again when you are done. Removing a station from the board asks first.
3. A muted station shows a "Muted" marker where its NEW chip would sit - its NOTAMs are still shown, only its alerts are silenced.

On a narrower window the rail folds into a station bar across the top of the board. Each card there has a station options menu with Pin station or Unpin station, Mute alerts or Unmute alerts, Refresh NOTAMs, Move up, Move down and Remove station, and a drag handle for reordering. Pinned stations sort before every unpinned station in both layouts. The refresh button in the rail header refreshes every station at once.

The NEW count on each card is the number of that station's NOTAMs you have not opened since your last look. Open a card and it is marked viewed, or click Mark all viewed at the foot of the rail to clear the "not yet viewed" count for everything shown.

How to narrow the board

1. Click a station card in the rail to show it on its own; click it again to see every station.
2. Set the When lens: Active now, Next 24h, Upcoming, Expired, All time, or Between... for a From (UTC) and To (UTC) pair you type. The head says how many NOTAMs sit outside the current window, with a Show next 24 hours or Show all time button to widen it. Upcoming, Expired and All time set the window aside and say so.
3. Click a tier on the severity meter to narrow to it; click it again to release it. The figures count everything else you have narrowed, so a tier never reads 0 just because another is selected.
4. Type in Search NOTAM ID, Q-code, subject or text.
5. Open Sort for Relevance, Soonest or Category, and More for the Category filter and Starred ("Your starred NOTAMs only, across every station in scope.").
6. Click Clear all in the head to drop every filter at once.

Priority first sets low-priority NOTAMs aside behind a Show control under each group - nothing is removed. Clicking NOTAMs in the sidebar while you are on the board resets the session view: the open detail, the station focus, the search and the stacked filters clear and the queue scrolls to the top. Your saved group, sort, time window and UTC/LOCAL choice stay as they were.

How to read a NOTAM in full

1. Click a card. The detail pane opens on the right with the NOTAM id, its station and subject, and the tier, kind and affected-runway chips.
2. Read the RAW block first. It is the complete text as fetched, with your highlight keywords in bold, and the line under it reads "Source: NOTAM Management System · Fetched:" with the age of the fetch.
3. Then read DECODED: Effective and Expires (or PERM), the Q-code and Traffic cells, and the Validity timeline - "NOTAM validity bar. Amber line is now. All times UTC." If the end could not be decoded the pane says so and draws no end: the raw text above is the authority.
4. Below the timeline sit the Q-line fields the notice carries: ICAO, Classification, Last updated, FIR, Purpose, Lower / Upper (FL), Radius and Coordinates, with Schedule and Keyword when the notice carries them.
5. Use the pane's controls: Copy raw NOTAM text, Star, Mark viewed, the map button ("View A3265/26 on map"), and Close (or Escape).

How to see a station's 30-day history

1. In a station's group head, click 30-day history.
2. The NOTAM history page opens with "30-day rolling archive - informational only" under its title and one Archive · last 30 days panel.
3. Filter with the Show segments - All, Active now, Upcoming, Expired and Amended, each carrying its real count; a segment with nothing in it is not offered.
4. Click Show raw on a row for its text as first seen. An Amended row shows both raws and says: "Amended since first seen. This NOTAM was re-issued or corrected during its time in history. Informational only - it does not mean the NOTAM is cancelled or superseded."

How to print a briefing pack

1. Set the board the way you want it on paper - the stations, the When lens, the tiers and any search.
2. Click Print in the top strip and choose Print shown (N) for the filtered rows or Print all loaded (N) for every fetched NOTAM.
3. In your browser's print dialog, choose Save as PDF.

The pack is titled "NOTAM briefing pack" with a Generated stamp, and a scope line under the counts - "Scope: all loaded NOTAMs (N)" or your filter summary with "N of N loaded NOTAMs shown" - so a partial pack is never mistaken for the whole picture. Every card keeps "Validity (UTC)" and its "Source:" and "Fetched:" line, and the export disclaimer rides the header and the footer: "Exported from Pilot EFB · Informational only. Verify with official NOTAM authorities before any operational decision." If the dialog does not open, the page says "Could not open the print dialog. Check your browser settings."

How to set keywords and NOTAM alerts

1. Open Settings > Briefing, weather & NOTAMs > NOTAM keywords ("Highlight terms for briefings"). Highlight keywords bolds the terms below wherever NOTAM text is shown; when off, NOTAMs render as plain text. The Built-in terms are always highlighted, plural forms too, and cannot be removed. Add your own under Custom keywords ("e.g. 09L or ILS CAT") and click Add.
2. Open Settings > Notifications and, under Location alerts, NOTAM alerts ("Watched locations and alert levels"). Turn on New NOTAM alerts: "Notifies you when a new critical or high NOTAM appears at a watched airport, FIR, or your home base."
3. Pick the Default alert level, Critical + high or Critical only, and override it per row under Watched airports and Watched FIRs.
4. Use Add alert-only watch to watch a location without adding it to Brief or favourites.

Alerts arrive as notifications on your signed-in iPhone or iPad and in any browser registered for notifications (Settings > Notifications), even with its tabs closed. Browsers receive critical and high NOTAMs; a location's own level narrows that per location. The setting applies to your account; other devices follow after they next sync.

How to look up a NOTAM by number

1. Press Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows) from any page.
2. Type the NOTAM number, for example A2905/26, or a fragment of its text.
3. The NOTAMs section lists matches from this browser's 30-day NOTAM history; click one to open its detail page for its station.
4. If the number is not in the local history, the deck asks the live NOTAM store for every station carrying it and appends the hits as live rows. The footer reads "on-device search + live NOTAM lookup" while it does.

If nothing is found the deck says so: "Not in this browser's NOTAM history, and no NOTAM numbered A2905/26 is in the live NOTAM store either." and tells you to verify with the official source. If the store cannot be reached it says only the local history was searched.

On iPhone and iPad

The phone keeps the same fetch, the same decode and the same footers in a single column: station groups, the reading pane, manual NOTAM entry and saving a NOTAM set to a flight. Manual entry and save-to-flight stay on the phone - the rail's foot says "Save to flight is available in the app." The station list you build here is the one the app shows. See NOTAMs on iPhone.

Troubleshooting

A station shows "No data" or "None returned". The fetch came back empty. That does not confirm none exist - the group says so and asks you to verify with official NOTAM sources. Refresh the station from its options menu, then check the official source.

The board says NOTAMs are outside the current time window. The When lens is narrowing them. Click Show next 24 hours or Show all time, or set Between... to the times you need.

A tier on the meter is greyed. It reads "this tier does not exist" in the current scope: no fetched NOTAM in view ranks there.

Field NOTAMs from an airport page opened the board on every station. The board waits for the field to reach the rail before narrowing to it. If the rail is full a message says "NOTAM station list is full (8 stations) - remove one there to add EGXX."

Print does nothing. The page says "Could not open the print dialog. Check your browser settings." - the browser blocked the print window. Allow it for the app and click Print again.
