Home is the tab Pilot EFB opens on. It is a dashboard that gathers the state of your day - the duty or flight in progress, weather at your home base, your duty and currency and your next seven days - into one scroll. Every card opens the module it summarises, so Home is also how you move around the app. Whenever duty figures are on the dashboard, the FTL module's "Personal planning only." line sits at the foot of the scroll.
Find your way around
Home is one scroll. From top to bottom:

The header controls, left to right: a live clock chip (Zulu or device-local), the notification bell with an unread count, a help menu that can start the guided tour of the main tabs, and the Settings gear. The greeting follows the clock at your home base, from "Good morning" through "Late watch".
How to switch the clock between Zulu and local
- Tap the clock chip in the header. The chip flips which time leads, Zulu or device-local.
- To set the default it comes up on, open Settings > General > Time & format.
How to check your duty and currency, weather and alerts
- Read the status strip under the header.
- Tap a chip to open the screen behind it:

- If a pill sits at the end of the strip, tap it to reach a section the adaptive layout has taken off the dashboard - for example the currency card during an active duty.
How to get back into your flight or start the next one
- Read the hero, the first card under the strip. In order of priority
it shows one of:
- your active flight - tap it to return to its briefing;
- a Resume your flight? prompt if a fresh sign-in parked the flight you had open (the app starts clean rather than assuming) - tap Reactivate to pick the flight back up;
- your next planned flight as a route card with its schedule;
- No active flight, most days, with the most useful next step.
- On No active flight, tap Brief your duty when a duty is on today, or Plan a flight otherwise.
How to read your duty at a glance
- Open a duty in the Duty tab. When flight time limits apply to you, the Active duty card sits directly under the hero.
- Read the card: remaining flight duty period, the latest FDP end, the day's sector count, a progress bar from report to limit, and your earliest report after minimum rest.
- Tap End duty now to close the duty from the dashboard.
- Tap anywhere else on the card to open the full Duty dashboard, where every number opens into its explanation.
How to see weather at your base
- Set a home base under Settings > General > Home base (the setup interview asks for it too). Home then keeps the latest METAR for it: flight rules badge, the raw report in monospace, a decoded strip, and a freshness pill that ages with the report.
- Read the TAF glance beneath it. It is graded on the forecast's own validity window, and the card says so.
- Tap either card to open the station in the Weather workspace.
How to see your week and recent hours
- Read the Next 7 days strip. A dot marks each day with a duty or flight, and a summary line covers the week.
- Tap a day for its detail, or tap All flights to open the flight list.
- Under the strip, read the Flight hours card: your block hours and sectors over the last 30 and 90 days, from your logbook. Tap it to open the Logbook.
- During an open duty the card also carries the Cumulative limits gauges: the same rolling flight-time and duty-time windows the Duty dashboard tracks, each against its ceiling. Like the Active duty figures, they follow the free duty allowance.
How to act on the cards that come and go
These cards appear only when they apply and step aside when they do not:

How to finish the setup steps you skipped
- Scroll to the Make it yours card: a folded checklist with a progress ring.
- Tap it to unfold the list. Each row deep links to the right screen: the tour, flying profile, duty rules, operator, fleet, medical and licence dates, carried-forward hours, reminders, theme, app lock, backup.
- Tap a row, complete the step, and return to Home. The list only shows what applies to you and is still unfinished.
- When every row is done, or when you tap Don't show again, the card retires.
How to customise the quick tools grid
The grid at the foot of Home is your shortcut row into the Tools tab: up to four tiles on iPhone (six on iPad) from a pool of ten - conversions, descent planner, timers, time calculator, crosswind, checklists, scratchpad, world clock, sun times and fuel uplift.
- Scroll to Quick tools.
- Tap Customize beside the section title (or tap the Add tile).
- Under On your dashboard, tap the minus to remove a shortcut, or use the up and down arrows to reorder.
- Under Add more, tap a tool to add it. The sheet notes that a custom selection keeps up to 4 tools on iPhone.
- Swipe the sheet closed. The grid updates at once.
On iPad
On iPad the same cards spread into a board: the hero runs full width and the rest pack into up to three columns. A few glances that share a card on iPhone get their own: a separate Recent hours card, a standalone Cumulative limits card, the TAF on its own tile, and an iPad-only Route conditions card that pairs the weather and NOTAMs along your active flight's route. The quick tools grid holds six tiles.

Signed out, or past the free duty allowance, the Active duty card still appears, without the numbers, and offers the unlock. Your logged duties are never gated.
Troubleshooting
A card from the screenshots is missing on my Home. Home adapts to your duty state and the role you picked at setup. Student and general aviation profiles never see flight duty period figures, and some cards only appear when they have something to show.
The Wx chip reads "No data". No home base is set. Add one under Settings > General > Home base and the METAR and TAF cards appear with it.
The weather card says my field does not publish reports. That is the station, not the app. Tap Find nearby airports and pick a station that reports.
The Currency & expiries card disappeared. It steps aside during an active duty. Tap the Currency pill at the end of the status strip instead.
The Active duty card shows no numbers. You are signed out, or you have passed the free allowance of 20 logged duties. Sign in, or move to Pro for the engine past the allowance; your logged duties stay available either way.
A Pilot EFB Pro card appeared on Home. Something just happened that Pro changes, such as a preview ending. It shows once; tap Not now and that suggestion does not come back.
